The Implementation and Effectiveness of Advanced Clinic Access
In response to a request from the Deputy Under Secretary for Health for Operations and Management and the Advanced Clinic Access Steering Committee, the HSR&D Management Decision and Research Center conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the implementation and effectiveness of Advanced Clinic Access (ACA). Taking advantage of the naturally occurring variations in wait times, we selected for study a sample of 78 VA medical centers stratified by wait time and size. A conceptual evaluation model guided the evaluation. In the full evaluation report, we present detailed information about each dimension of the conceptual model and the relationships among dimensions. In the executive summary we highlight the evaluation findings.
